What is a GreenWeb? I've been talking about #TakeTheInternetBack for some time now. Many people have at least heard of "The Dark Web" even if you don't know what it means.
At one time, the internet was useful. Since the corporations took over, it just keeps getting worse and now Google is all in on artificial intelligence. They plan to change the search engine to: "Instead of the classic list of blue links, Google Search will now also generate a custom page with an AI-generated summary of what you’re searching about, which will then trigger a conversation with AI Mode on the main page, allowing users to ask follow-up questions—similar to the kind of layout you would see when opening ChatGPT." https://time.com/article/2026/05/20/google-search-ai-internet/
From about 1990 to 2010, the internet was a useful source, despite the "porn". Now days, with the corporations controlling everything from "hosting" to finding information or just being able to "blog", they censor, they sell, they cram advertisements in your face at every turn. And all that as they track your every click.
A few months ago, DuckDuckGo decided to go AI and about the same time Proton joined the bandwagon. I keep hoping that people will finely get the idea with #TakeTheInternetBack. We have given all our creativity, information and everything to the coronations and they just keep taking more. Corporations have convinced the world that you can't do anything for yourself. If you have a computer of any kind at home, you can do anything. To use #TidySearch and an example, you can run a data collection program looking for 3 lines in a website. <title>,<meta name="description" content=, and the link to add to the search engine. At least, that is how it used to work but may sites are so infested with garbage, its become difficult. The source of the infestation? You may have heard of Java Script. Not all Java Script is bad but when its sending AI to your computer, it could be downloading things and infesting your computer or ANY number of other things. Java Script runs inside your computer, and that is where the nightmares begin.
I've been working with computers since 1984 when my high school got Apple 2 C's (got to stop thinking about that because it reminds that I am old, LOL). For 12 years, I even owned a computer shop. All my repairs was always reinstalling Microsoft Windows because a website would install something using Java Script and often it was a virus because Java Script RUNS ON YOUR COMPUTER NOT THE SERVER YOU VISITED. An example of this line that looks at your screen setting and sets a cookie:

This being a very nice line that I've used to adjust screen layouts for phones vs computers but it can be used against you just as easy. So, why are you still giving peoples social security number, ID number and everything to lets say Google Docs? These corporations have sold you all out and you keep letting them because your convinced they are right and often because of: "It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his salary

I'd love to see a real VPN not controlled by a corporation for one, one that "we control" that doesn't block you at every turn. The corporate "social networks" like X, Facebook, Tic Tack, etc hate the Fediverse because they can't control us. Corporate VPN's do the same thing.
